Gratitude and Growth: My Journey at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
After 11 years, 1 month, and 12 days (4,061 days), my chapter at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has come to a close. Yesterday was filled with hugs, laughter, tears, and memories as colleagues and friends gathered to say farewell.
For more than a decade, I had the privilege of advancing CPB’s mission and to ensure the American people have universal access to public media content and services. Working with local stations and hearing the impact they were making in their communities always reassured me that I was exactly where I needed to be.
I’m deeply grateful for the knowledge, experiences, and skills I’ve gained, but even more so for the incredibly talented and dedicated colleagues I had the honor of working alongside. To my CPB colleagues, thank you for serving as sounding boards and mentors, for sharing your knowledge, for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and for pouring into me over the years. I hope I was able to pour into many of you as you did for me.
One of the highlights that will forever stay with me is hearing the outro at the end of a program, “This program was made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.” It never failed to make me smile knowing we played a role in bringing those stories to life.
As for what’s next? I’m taking time to pause, reflect, recharge, and recalibrate as I chart my next chapter. Thank you to those who’ve reached out asking how you can help. I’ll definitely be in touch once I’ve put more thought into what’s ahead. In the meantime, please keep my CPB colleagues and me lifted as we navigate this new reality together. (September 30, 2025)
